About Us

The Flemington Association works to care for and enhance the special character and amenity of Flemington for the benefit of all residents.

The Association is a not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by resident volunteers. The Association is not affiliated with any political party.

The Association:

  • Keeps residents informed about our local community through our Fortnight in Flemington email, bi-monthly newsletter, Facebook pagemonthly meetingscommunity guide and welcome packs.
  • Builds community through a range of projects, including the Stationeers’ garden at Newmarket Railway Station, heritage walks and primary school reading assistance program at Debney Meadows Primary School.
  • Provides a means for residents to raise concerns and make suggestions about matters affecting Flemington.
  • Ensures residents’ voices are heard by local, state and federal governments and VCAT.
  • Contributes to planning for Flemington’s future.

The Flemington Association has been active in the local community for more than 40 years and stems from groups going as far back as the Flemington Ratepayers Association, which formed in 1881.  The Association incorporated in 2009.
