The main commercial area of Flemington is the Racecourse Road area, which includes the Racecourse Road shopping strip, Newmarket Plaza Shopping Centre and Pin Oak Crescent shopping strip. There are also mixed businesses along Mt Alexander Road.

Many small parks can be found throughout the area with Debney’s Park being the largest.

Flemington has three primary schools and one secondary school.
