The Flemington Association has prepared an ‘action statement’ – contact points and ideas on how residents can voice their disapproval of the development. This can be downloaded here. Residents can also refer to our response to the Advisory Committee for our position on the project via the link below.
This is the first stage of the Victorian Governments $100m Bicycle Strategy. While initially directed towards Melbourne City Council the connectivity issues impact on Flemington, Newmarket and Travancore. Hence we are working closely with both the MCC and MVCC.
In early April the Association presented to East West Link (Eastern Section) Project Assessment Committee / Planning Panel. Later in April many residents will be presenting.
The Association is a co-contributor to the East West Link daily blog and entries can be found here.

MVCC are currently undertaking:
“The Heritage Gap Study will identify places and buildings that best represent these themes. This will include analysis of previous Council heritage studies, state wide heritage reviews, historical documents and maps. Local historical societies, residents and community groups will be asked to nominate the places and buildings that they believe are worthy of heritage protection”.
MVCC are working developing new residential zones to meet State Govt. requirements.
“The State Government has introduced new residential planning rules (or zones) across Victoria. These new residential zones will strengthen controls on the type of development that is allowed to o
ccur in your street and neighbourhood.
Using the new rules, Council has developed what zones we think should apply to different areas across Moonee Valley. View the proposed application of the new zones..”
